Immunization News & Clinics

The State of Iowa, through its Vaccines for Children plan, provides childhood immunizations at no cost for children under 18 who have no insurance, whose insurance does not cover immunizations, is Medicaid eligible, or is Native Indian or Eskimo descent. These childhood immunizations can cost from $600 - $800 in a physician's office setting. With this program there is no reason that ALL children in Montgomery County should not be properly immunized.

Immunization Clinics are held at the agency office the 2nd Thursday of each month at 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. and the 4th Thursday of each month from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

There is a new emphasis on adolescent immunizations. These include Tdap, Meningitis, HPV-Guardisil and Hepatitis A & B. It is suggested to receive these immunizations at age 11 - 12 years.

If you are interested in receiving an immunization or learning more about the program, contact Deana Gilbert or Sue Drake at 623-4893.
